Pottery – Open Studio
Date: April 22 – May 13, 2024 (Mondays, 4 weeks)
Time: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Fee: $75 plus HST(Members) | Fee: $86.25 plus HST (Non-Members)
Weekly Open Studio for students who have done one or two 8 weeks sessions and want to continue the practice. This is not a beginner class – students must have previous experience and be able to work independently. * There is no guidance provided during this time.
Part of the open studio process is basic studio etiquette, students must:
have completed one or two week sessions before joining
be familiar with the policies and procedures of the pottery studio
there will be a liability release form for you to sign of agreement for studio rules and health and safety upon your first visit
be able to work on their projects without instruction
clean-up of your space after use is mandatory, clean up at your wheel and wipe down any surfaces as needed
return studio tools back to their storage area after each use
wear close-toed shoes and long hair tied back in the studio
not allow guests, including family and children in the studio during this time
not bring food in the studio
wear a mask while sanding or mixing glazes
Fees includes the use of tools, equipment and glazes. Students can purchase clay from the Centre. Open studio does not include the price of kiln space rental. If you want us to fire your pottery, there is a firing cost (includes bisque and glaze). Tammy will arrange for a firing at the end of the four week session.
