Decorative Surfaces: Mocha Diffusion
Saturday, April 29, 2017
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Students will explore the decorative technique of mocha diffusion on leather hard pots. Mocha diffusion is and early 19 century English decorative technique in which ceramic colourants are suspended in an acidic solution and applied to wet slip. The resulting patterns end up looking very fern or tree like.
Students should arrive with a selection of leather hard pots, and some flat tiles already made. We will be working with cone six slips and a variety of colourants and acidic mediums.
