Liam Ross is a Canadian settler artist and teacher who works with paper-related art/craft processes and foraged art materials. His practice is informed by the legacies of life, work, and activism in Mi’kma’ki and the relationship formed here between the sea, the land, and the people.

Liam has worked throughout the region to develop and deliver arts-focused programming, aiming to connect communities and schools to new creative practices. In 2020, he was selected to take part in the Visual Arts Nova Scotia Mentorship Program, and in 2021 he was the assistant curator for the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia permanent exhibition TYRANNY. In 2022, he joined NSCAD University as an instructor in the Extended Studies Program to bring accessible art and craft education to the local community.

He is currently based on Unama’ki/Cape Breton Island. You can find his work on Instagram under the handle @bigturtlemoon.
