Jewellery (Intermediate Level)
Date: September 23 – November 18, 2019 (Wednesday, 8 weeks)
Time: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Instructor: Lynda Lou MacIntyre

Jewellery making often produces a lot of scrap pieces of silver, copper and gold. Almost all of the studio participants have cans and bags of these bits. This fall session is one in which the instructor will teach you how to reuse metal by fusing the bits onto a base of fine or sterling silver and creating a fine jewellery piece with the result. You will use flex shaft machines and burrs to carve into the fused pieces. The unpredictability of fusing is half of the fun!

These skills lead right into reticulation which the instructor will be teaching in the winter 2021 session.

Students will be required to purchase their own metals, which are available at the Centre. (No class on November 11)
