In this pottery course, students will learn different handbuilding techniques in clay including slab building, pinching, coiling, carving, and texturing. Students will create their own one-of-a-kind set of functional wares, learning and creating a new form each week.

Kelsey Watson is a ceramic artist in Inverness, Nova Scotia. Kelsey earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from NSCAD University in 2013 and has since built a home studio where she focuses on both functional wares and sculptural pieces. Kelsey’s work is greatly influenced by living in the Maritimes and is inspired by living in such close proximity to the ocean. Her functional pottery can be found in several retail stores throughout Atlantic Canada and in her online shop.”
