Rug Hooking (Introductory to Advanced Level)
Date: April 19 – June 14, 2021 (Mondays, 8 weeks)

This traditional rug hooking class is open to all levels and will cover all aspects of hooking rugs with wool cloth strips. During the course we will also discuss transferring patterns and different finishing techniques.

The project is 14″ x 14″ and the reduced kit price for students will be $75. There will be equipment available for a small rental fee of $10.00 that can be put towards purchasing a hook or frame at the end of class.

Joan MacKenzieis a fibre artist educated at York University and Ryerson in Toronto. She has been rug hooking for over 20 years with her work showing in group exhibitions across Nova Scotia. She sells her finished work and rug hooking supplies at her local business in Sydney called Needleit Rug Hooking Studio.

**Advanced registration for members only begins March 29**

General registration for non members begins April 12.
