In this workshop, you will learn to dye cotton with plant derived indigo. Indigo is a blue dye that has been used for over 6000 years. This workshop will focus on the unique and diverse art of Shibori, originating from Japan.

Under the guidance of a trained shibori textile artist, you will learn about different ways of manipulating the cloth to create patterns once it is dyed. Participants will learn about stitched resists, tied resists, and woodblock clamped resists. Finished items available for pick up their items 2 days after the workshop. (Please bring a lunch.)
