Calandra Coward isa full time registered nurse and serious yarn enthusiast. She learned the basics of knitting from her Grandmother and began using the craft as a way to relax and unwind from nursing school. Calandra started her own side business, The Nurse Who Knits, last year and sells handknit items online and at craft shows. She has also started designing her own knitting patterns.

Originally from Newmarket Ontario, Calandra moved to Cape Breton in 2019 so that her husband could attend the Coast Guard College. Calandra, Gavin, and their Giant Schnauzer Valkyrie now live in Westmount and run their knitting business out of their home. Calandra’s goals for 2021 include designing more patterns and growing the online business.
