Time: 1 pm to 3 pm

This class will teach you the basics of macrame and how to produce a hanging planter. Macrame is a type of textile created using knotting techniques, as opposed to weaving or knitting. Each knot can be created with your hands, and there are no other tools required other than a mounting ring to keep the item in place while you work.

If you need a little macramé in your life join Jessica and learn how to make a hanging planter.

Cost of materials will be $25. Potted plants will also be available for purchase for $15. (Payable directly to the Instructor)

Jessica Baxterhas been studying in the world of Optics for over ten years, I found my artistic medium during the COVID-19 lockdown. Prior to this I always felt like there was an artistic outlet missing. When I started with my first planter, I got hooked on the world of fibre.  It quickly became an obsession, and I focused on large, customized wall tapestries. Having been raised in a small community in New Brunswick, my yearning for these types of grassroots activities soon became a life-changing career path for me. Now I operate a home-based business, supply to three stores locally, and have pieces shipped to every province and territory in Canada. I love teaching people this beautiful artform and getting them in touch with their artistic side in a way they didn’t think was possible.
