Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design offers programs and services that are uniquely beneficial and rewarding to our membership. They include:

  1. Basic Membership:

    $40.25 ($35 plus HST)

    • Preferential rates for classes and workshops
    • Advance registration for classes and workshops
    • Receipt of CBCCD publications
    • Access to lending library
    • Invitation to Special Events and Exhibition Openings (via email)
    • Voting rights at CBCCD Annual Meeting (Members must be legal voting age)
  2. Juried Membership (must submit your work for product assessment):

    $69 ($60 plus HST)

    • As Basic Member above plus
    • Participate in Marketing and Promotional Initiatives
    • Opportunity to connect with fine craft professionals

  3. Youth Membership:

    18 and under: $17.50 ($15 plus HST)
    18 and up (Full Time Student*): $23.00 ($20 plus HST)

  4. Family Membership:

    $46.00 ($40 plus HST) for one parent/guardian and children
    $69.00 ($60 plus HST) for two parent(s)/guardian(s) and children

    • As Basic Member as above (Adult plus all children under 18 years in same residence)
  5. Friends of CBCCD:Friends of the CBCCD are individuals or businesses who make acknowledged or anonymous donations of any denomination to support the Centre’s ongoing development of cultural and educational programming and services.

HOW TO SELL YOUR WORK IN THE GALLERY SHOP

To sell product in the Centre’s Gallery Shop, you must be a juried member at the Centre and to do so you must submit your work to our product assessment committee to be juried.

This process is designed to help craftspeople improve the quality of their craft and marketability should they wish to sell their work in different settings. The assessment is performed by a carefully selected committee of qualified craft makers and craft sector professionals.

Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design contributes to the development of excellence in craft through the exhibition and interpretation of fine quality, handmade craft. Our primary focus is to provide exhibition opportunities to emerging and established member craftspeople to assist with their professional development and in so doing, increase public awareness of and appreciation for craft.
