Pottery – Open Studio
Date: April 14 – June 16, 2025 (Mondays, 8 weeks)
Time: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Fee: $132 plus HST (Members) | Fee: $150.48 plus HST (Non-Members)

Weekly Open Studio for students who have completed two to three 8 weeks sessions and want to continue the practice. This is not a beginner class – students must have previous experience and be able to work independently. * There is no guidance provided during this time. No class April 21 and May 19 

Part of the open studio process is basic studio etiquette, students must:

  • have completed two-to-three-week sessions with an instructor before joining
  • be able to work on their projects without instruction
  • be familiar with the policies and procedures of the pottery studio
  • sign a liability release form
  • wear a mask if mixing glazes. (mask are recommended)
  • wear appropriate clothing, closed toed footwear and long hair must be tied back
  • clean your workspace before leaving. Wet wipe surfaces – never sweep! This includes wiping down the pottery wheel after each use.
  • return studio tools back to their storage area after each use
  • wash your hands thoroughly after working with clay or glazes to remove any residue
  • do not allow guests, including family and children in the studio during this time
  • do not bring food in the studio (this helps prevent accidental ingestions of dust or other materials)
  • kiln clay explosions are unlikely, but they do happen. In the event of your art being damaged due to a kiln explosion, we are happy to provide you a chance to come in and remake your clay art piece.
  • students are reminded to sign their work. Otherwise, we cannot promise your work won’t be mixed up with someone else’s.

Fees includes the use of tools, equipment and glazes. Students can purchase clay from the Centre. Please arrange firings with Tammy.
