Pottery, Sculpture (Introductory to Intermediate Level)
Date: April 30 – June 18, 2026 (Thursdays, 8 weeks)
Time: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Instructor: Gord Rice
Fee: $195.62 + HST (Members) | $223.00 + HST (Non-Members)
Join Gord and learn his techniques and shortcuts for creating teapots with a distinctive human element. This hands-on experience will allow you to mold, sculpt, and decorate a unique ceramic piece under expert instruction.
Hand-building is a ceramics technique that enables the creation of forms using only your hands, without the need for a throwing wheel. Historically, before the invention of the wheel, this was the sole method for crafting both functional and artistic ceramic forms. This workshop offers a wonderful opportunity to explore a traditional and expressive ceramic art form.
Class fees include the use of tools, equipment, firings and glazes. Students can purchase clay from the centre. ($35/bag)
Advance registration for members begins April 7
General registration for non-members April 20
