Children’s Pottery, Hand building Ages 7+ (Introductory to Advanced Level)

Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Fee: $85.80 plus HST (Members) | Fee: $98.67 plus HST (Non-Members)
This class is intended to introduce students ages 7+ to work with clay and pottery. Classes will center on various hand building techniques. Students will learn how to create pinch pots, coil pots, as well as create individual clay form such as a cup. Students should come in clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty.
Course fees include clay, glazes, firings and use of all studio tools and equipment.
Sam White is a graduate of NSCAD majoring in Textiles and Minor Fashion. She lived in Edmonton where she worked as a program specialist/art instructor for after school programs. She also worked with clay as a pottery instructor teaching both children and adults. Sam has experience in teaching a variety of children’s art classes such as drawing, painting, pottery and hand weaving. Sam has taught summer Art camps and March break programs and is happy to be back in Cape Breton.
