By studying the works of current “rising star” jewellers, we will look at how they draw their inspiration from what is around them. Using flame, hammers & texturing tools, we will create contrast & textures within our pieces. The use of anticlastic forging will introduce gentle curves that invite us to add pearls, stones & contrasting metals. Excellent for earrings or bracelets. Come & have fun creating!
Students will be required to purchase their own metals, available through the Centre. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe footwear is recommended for safety.
Lynda Lou MacIntyre is an artist working in watercolour painting, metal smithing, silk painting and printmaking. Her work is inspired by the beauty of nature and the natural elegance of living and has been exhibited in solo and group shows. Lynda Lou has worked as an art teacher for the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board, has taught countless art workshops, has been a mentor for many students and currently teaches jewellery making at the Centre.
