Jewellery (Intermediate to Advanced Level)

Jewellery (Intermediate to Advanced Level)
Date: September 20 – November 8, 2023 (Wednesdays, 8 weeks)
Time: 6 pm to 9 pm
Instructor: Lynda Lou MacIntyre
Fee: $171.60 plus HST (Members) | Fee: $197.34 plus HST (Non-Members)

In this session, you will use your accumulated skills to capture the curves and flow we see in nature. Using highly polished or textured wires of various gauges and sizes, you will smoothly connect these to create shapes and decorative ends that portrait clouds, water and flora. The finished pieces will be airy and comfortable to wear.  Whether you create a bracelet, ring or pendant, you can add stones, pearls or other embellishments to enhance your piece!

Students will be required to purchase their own metals, available through the Centre.

Lynda Lou MacIntyre is an artist working in watercolour painting, metal smithing, silk painting and printmaking. Her work is inspired by the beauty of nature and the natural elegance of living and has been exhibited in solo and group shows. Lynda Lou has worked as an art teacher for the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board, has taught countless art workshops, has been a mentor for many students and currently teaches jewellery making at the Centre.
