Continue developing your oil painting skills in this eight-week intermediate to advanced course with local artist and instructor Barbara Floyd. Designed for artists with some previous experience in oil painting, this class provides an opportunity to further develop painting techniques, explore colour mixing and composition, and build confidence in creating more developed and personal works.

Students will be encouraged to refine their skills, experiment with different approaches, and work toward developing their own artistic style while receiving guidance and feedback from Barbara throughout the course.

Born and raised in Sydney, Barbara had an interest in art and crafts ever since she was old enough to hold a paintbrush. She enjoys working with all mediums, each one having its own qualities.

She participated in after-school painting classes and, at age 17, became one of the late Thorn Morrow’s students. Then, at age 40, she joined the well-known local artist Marie Moore’s art classes and was with her for over 20 years until Marie Moore retired.

Barbara brings her extensive experience and enthusiasm for art to her teaching. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and particularly thrives on seeing the enthusiasm of beginners as they discover their creativity, develop their skills, and experience the satisfaction of what they can accomplish.
