Nature and Art in D’Escousse: An Outdoor Art Workshop for Kids
Set at the D’Escousse Civic Improvement Society Hall in Richmond County, this workshop takes children into the woods directly behind the hall to gather natural materials — leaves, stones, bark, seed pods, feathers — and bring them back inside to make art. The session combines a short guided nature walk with hands-on art-making: nature printing, collage, and simple assemblage. Everything takes place on the hall property, with no road crossings required. Children learn to look closely at the natural world and translate what they find into a keepsake piece they take home. The workshop is designed to connect kids to the particular landscape of Isle Madame in a memorable way. Best suited for children ages 6-12.
