ASTUA’SIJ (Where Paths Meet) – Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design

ASTUA’SIJ (Where Paths Meet)

Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design is pleased to announce a new exhibition called ASTUA’SIJ. The opening will take place on Saturday, April 6th from 4-6PM, at the J. Franklin Wright Gallery in the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.

The exhibition title, ASTUA’SIJ, means “where paths meet” in the Mi’kmaw language. It references the separate journeys of the four emerging Mi’kmaw artists featured in the exhibition coming together to present an array of creative methods that reflect on cultural identity. The artists featured in this exhibition are Marissa Prosper, Laylia Bennett, Tracy Marshall, and Joef Bernard.

We would like to thank TD Bank Group for their support for this exhibition.

ASTUA’SIJ (Where Paths Meet) will be on display until May 14th, 2023.
