Ten645
Join us for the opening reception of Ten645 on Thursday, September 26 at 6:00 p.m. in the Centre’s Loft.
Ten645 is an exceptional exhibition by 10 Cape Breton artists in response to a collaboration with 10 artists in Nairobi, Kenya. The project seeks to break down preconceptions, cultivate a better understanding, and create artwork that embraces two art communities separated by only 10,645 kilometres.
The artists created a diverse collection of pieces in response to the objects from the Nairobi artists. The results are unique, recalling the found pieces, interpreted by and through the hands of visual artists using a variety of techniques. The exhibition showcases a variety of disciplines including handmade, photographic, digital, installation and conceptual. The multimedia exhibition will also feature the found objects from BrushTu.
Ten645 will be displayed in the Centre’s Loft until October 26, 2019.
