Want to learn how to dye wool with food colour? Come learn the basic dying techniques using heat and food colour.  Come dye your own skein of sock yarn using only food colour and a crock pot.  Also learn about other ways to dye yarn with food colour beyond the basics of the workshop.

Introductions (share what you feel comfortable to). You will explore the basic steps for dying natural animal fibers using only food colouring. You will also discuss other techniques that can be used with food colour, and such things as fleece for spinning or thrumming etc. Each participant will complete a skein of dyed yarn suitable for a pair of socks of other projects requiring fingering weight yarn.

Materials required:
rubber gloves
old towels
note pad and pencil or pen.

Materials fee of $25  to be paid to instructor for one natural skein approximately 115 grams of 80% super wash merino/20% nylon sock yarn, use of food colour and other materials and tools required to dye.
