Spring is here and what better way to celebrate with a decorative pom pom bunny or two. It will be a simple workshop where you will make pom poms using a kid friendly technique, although adults will be required to do cutting, and hot gluing.

Originally from Ontario Alison Hood, moved to Cape Breton with her family in 2023. Alison has over 35 years of knitting, and professional teaching experience. Alison’s passion for knitting and all things fiber is infectious, and she creates a fun, informative learning environment, filled with engaging stories, helpful tips, and just the right amount of detail to keep things interesting without overwhelming her students.

Alison has taught knitting at Micheals, local yarn stores, community groups, and facilitated a variety of workshops She has also been part of a team that hosts yearly knitting retreats. She knit garments to be photographed for Sugar Bush Yarns pattern books. She has studied the role of knitting in communication, spirituality, and culture giving papers on the various roles of knitting at international academic conferences in Canada, Australia, Mexico, Finland, and England.
